Cutting through the noise

Every year, the cream of the world’s advertising and communications professionals flock to the Cannes Lions Festival of Creativity to compete for some of the industry’s most prestigious awards and network their socks off.

Our client, News UK, owner of The Times, The Sunday Times, The Sun, Talksport , Unruly and much more, wanted to make a big splash to attract this important audience to their brands. But with hundreds of others also vying for attention, how do you cut through the noise?

Our response was to create the most memorable experience in Cannes.

Yes we Cannes

With the help of 300 stage crew, a host of world-renowned entertainers and a sprinkling of star chefs we transformed the stunning Château de Garibondy in the nearby hills into the place to see and be seen.

By day, the Chateau hosted a programme of receptions, panel discussions, lunches and dinners; hot ticket events attended by senior ad agency and brand representatives who were exposed to News UK’s titles as vital ad partners.

Festival du Chateau

As night fell, an extravaganza of visual and sensory experiences began involving actors, musicians, performers, wonderous staging and top class moving image work from our film team. With MasterChef judge John Torode cooking up a storm, and magician Dynamo thrilling and surprising the audience, we created some unforgettable moments for News UK guests.

On the final evening we threw the most anticipated party of the Festival. 350 specially invited VIP’s enjoyed a stunning line-up of entertainment, including a DJ set from actor Idris Elba, superstar DJ Fatboy Slim, and a headline performance from the one and only Kylie.

Making an Impact

It was a sensational end to an outstanding few days that not only attracted the high quality guests our clients wanted to impress, but created a rich source of material for social media and other campaigns.

2018 is the second year we’ve created the News Chateau and it has been such a success that we’re already planning how to top it in 2019.
